BIKE RACKS ON ALL TRANSPO BUSES

TRANSPO's entire fixed-route bus fleet is equipped with bicycle racks (sorry, Trolleys cannot accommodate bikes). Now bikes can be transported on board any bus on a first come, first serve basis. No additional fare is required. TRANSPO does not permit bicycles inside buses for safety reasons. Bicycles may be loaded or unloaded at any bus stop.

BIKE RACK SAFETY TIPS

Your safety is important to TRANSPO. We'd like you to enjoy the bike racks and use them in a safe manner. The following are a few tips to help both you and your operator:

Always get the driver's attention before you load or unload your bicycle.

Return empty rack to the upright position after you remove your bicycle.

LOADING YOUR BIKE ON TRANSPO BUSES

• Remove water bottles and other loose items from bike before loading
• As bus approaches, motion to driver that you will be loading your bike
• After bus has stopped, load your bike, from front or curbside only. NEVER load your bike from a traffic lane!
• Squeeze center handle up to release latch, then fold rack down
• Load your bike, fitting wheels into slots in rack
• Raise support arm up and over tire so that hook rests at highest point on bike wheel
• Board TRANSPO and enjoy your ride!

UNLOADING YOUR BIKE ON TRANSPO BUSES

• As you deboard the bus, inform the driver that you will be unloading your bike
• Unload bike from front or curbside only. NEVER unload your bike from a traffic lane!
• Raise support arm off of tire, folding down to a secure position
• Lift bike out of rack
• Squeeze handle and fold rack up, snapping in place in upright position
• Step away from bus with bike

TRANSPO provides bike racks as a courtesy to our passengers. TRANSPO assumes no liability for damage incurred to bikes not properly secured to bike racks. If you forget to retrieve your bike, or the driver pulls away before you've unloaded it, please call TRANSPO at 233-2131.
